13 Strange Facts You Need To Have Financial Surplus In Your Family

7 Strange Things People Do That Drives Money Away From Them Unknowingly

-Bisi Adewale

To change our financial life and manage money rightly in your marriage, you must change your perception. Until your perception is changed to a better one you can never handle money the way it should be managed to glorify God, bless and edify people around you. To be a blessing to your spouse and children and people around you, your perception must change for the best.

  1. Money is everything. If you have this kind of perception, you will cherish money more than a relationship, marriage, your health and your relationship with God. This kind of perception is the mother of greed, the person with it can do anything for money, their question always is “will it fetch me money?’ If the answer is yes, they go for it, even if it means hurting or killing somebody. This is very bad; it is at the root of many marriage destruction and divorces.

What you need to know: Money is not everything; money can buy many things definitely not all things. It can buy drug but not health, bed not sleep, wedding not good marriage. Money is not everything, change your perception.

  1. My Money is my blood, I can’t give it out. This perception is at the root of stinginess, carelessness and failure to take care of one’s family. Some people are so stingy to the extent that they find it difficult to buy food for themselves. A man died recently in the US, when he was alive; light was cut from his house because he refuse to pay for it, he take to watching TV in the house of neighbours, he eat one time a day have only two clothes, two shoes, had one 1970s model car which he could not maintain and had been abandoned five years before his death. The general perception of everybody about him was that he was very poor, when he died; his children discover to their surprises that he had nine millions Dollar in the bank account. What a miserable life he lived because of wrong perception of money.

What you need to know: know that money is not blood; it is to be allowed to flow out in the right way and for the right purpose. You will hurt yourself and your family deeply if you are stingy.

  1. Rainfall perception. On the other hand, people with “rainfall” perception of money do see money as a rainfall, to be spent when available, anyhow, for pleasure, for show-off, for competition, for wasting. This is also wrong.

What to do: know that not every available money are spendable. No, part of your money belongs to God, part if it belongs to your future. Save it, if you spend future money now, you will regret it later when the future arrives.

4.Profit above principles perception. This involves cherishing money more than good name, more than integrity. This is the roof of corruption, enrichment, embezzlement, stealing, pilfering, etc. The major concern of people with this kind of perception is money and how to make it; their names notwithstanding. In a television advert recently by one of the anti-corruption agencies in their campaign again corruption. A father was shown fighting his son for not been rich like the son of his friend after two years in the city, His son replied that he can do what the boy mentioned is doing. The father asked him why he doesn’t want to do it in which he answered that he doesn’t want to spoil his name, the father answered him furiously, “go and spoil the name, I was the one who gave you the name. if you spoil the name I will give you another one. “That is to show the kind of perception the father has about money.

Work to do: Cherish your name more than money. Keep your integrity intact, money cannot buy it. “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches and loving favour rather than silver and gold”. Proverbs 22:1

5.Money is better than family perception. This is the kind of perception those that abandoned their families in the name of looking for greener pastures has. Many travels abroad living their spouses and children behind for many years. It is a very bad perception.

Work to do: Family is very important if you destroy your family because of money you will live naked at old age. Take good care of your family.

Work to do: Family is very important if you destroy your family because of money you will live naked at old age. Take good care of your family.

6.Money is sweet, work is bitter perception. This is the perception all lazy people have. They love and want money and hate labour. If they work at all, they work grudgingly that they have no new value to it. If you are fond of saying “Thank God it is Friday” it only shows you hate Monday; the day that signifies the beginning of work week and you love Friday, a day that will lead you to two days away from work. Until your perception of work change, you cannot make the most of your life if you hate work and fail to honour labour

Work to do: Create a passion for your work, work with joy, turn your work to your hobby, this way you will enjoy what you are doing and be promoted in it.

7.Bank is useless perception. In this modern day, we still have people with this kind of perception especially in this developing country like ours. They prefer keeping their money at home, some have “waist bank” (they make a small bag and put their money in it)and tie it around their waist wherever they go. Some women even turn their bra to a “bra bank”, that is where they keep their money. Some people keep their money under their mattress, some in their wardrobe, etc. these are very wrong. Money kept this way can easily be lost, stolen or misplaced; it is a barbaric way of handling money.

Work to do: Note that it is about impossible to become a financial giant without been a bank user. Hence, you must have a bank account and begin to enjoy what bank and banking system has to enjoy.
