5 Children Die Of Dehydration In Niger

Five children and three adults have allegedly died of dehydration in Niger. five of the children died of thirst in the Niger desert on their way to Algeria, a common route for African trying to escape to Europe, a security source told AFP.
According to the source,
The group, a man, a woman and five children aged between six and 12, “were abandoned by a smuggler” and “all died of thirst”, he added.
“These migrants died of thirst on the way to Algeria,” the source, who asked not to be identified, said late Tuesday.

According to Air-info, an online based in northern Niger, said the deceased were part of a larger group who were heading to Algeria were part of a larger group headed for Algeria, and that four men who had been rescued were found “completely dehydrated”.
This year alone so many migrants have died along that route.Just last year, authorities counted nothing less than 34 bodies of migrants including many adults and children,
Niger is against smuggling, in 2015 the west African country passed a rugged tough law against human trafficking and agreed on jail term of up to 30 years for smugglers.
